Asaap - Chai:

The positive side to this battle with HIV is that medical research has tirelessly stayed on the ball. There are constant developments and breakthroughs in treatment to make managing this disease less daunting to improve over all quality of life. However, one can only reap the rewards to these advances if they can be understood. This website is simple, easy to understand and language goes a long way in empowering PHA’s to manage their health.
ASAAP plays many different roles in the lives of South Asian PHA’s. We play the role of family, friend, counselor, care provider, and on this website we play role of educator. ASAAP strongly endorses the fact that knowledge is the key to empowerment.
We also encourage our clients to not be afraid to ask the questions which will be answered by professionals. This website has been designed to be interactive, where experts will provide comprehensive and current information in response to questions. To ensure that you feel safe to ask us your questions, we exercise utmost confidentiality and take pride in offering PHA’s a safe space a nonjudgmental environment.
ASAAP offers free and confidential services to South Asians living with HIV/AIDS. Our PHA support program allows for regular, drop-ins that include one-on-one counseling and a monthly support group which helps to instill the feeling of belonging and provides us with an opportunity to conduct a monthly needs assessment. ASAAP also strongly understands the importance of awareness and makes every effort to do outreach work in the community.
ASAAP’s on-going goal is to hear the voices of our community. This website is our acknowledgement to our community that your voices have been heard and we hope that the rich knowledge this website provides will benefit you on many levels.
